Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's talent for athletics was evident from the moment she was enrolled at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition and placing in the top two in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships, for 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix finished high school in 2003 and signed with Adidas to become professional athlete. In the following year, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She broke a Junior World Record by running 200 metres in 22.18 second. She became the youngest world champion in the 200 meters in the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her events.
